Peewee 1 Ice Chikas win nailbiter to clinch 1st place in OGHA tournament  Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

The OGHA Ice Chikas fought a tough battle in the finals for Peewee Champion in the St. Pierre pool of the OGHA tournament.

The Ice Chikas ended regulation in a tie; the overtime period produced no answers with exciting chances at both ends. On to the shootout! Robyn, the third shooter and leading scorer for the Ice Chikas, put the puck into the back of the twine and then all eyes turned to the other end where the Ice Chika netminder Caitlin denied the Kingston shooter (one shooter at a time in this game).

The girls showed tremendous spirit and sportsmanship -- They Believe in the power of you and I, the theme from the Vancouver games -- all while standing arm in arm on the bench. Thank you to the team staff and the parents who also believe!
