Congratulations to Ottawa Ice Atom BB on their tournament win in Peterborough, Dec 6th. They beat North Halton, one of the top Toronto-area teams, 1-0 in the final. Way to go girls and coaches!

  The OGHA is proud to announce the arrival of the new OTTAWA ICE competitive jerseys.
A BIG THANK YOU to Bryon Capello, our competitive convenor; because of all his hard work we have these fabulous new jerseys. Thank you as well to Steve Leu & Dean Karakasis for all the time and effort they put into this project. Teams will be picking up their new jerseys and socks in the next few days ... watch for them at a rink near you.

Midget 3 won their division in the Gloucester-Cumberland 2009 "Kickin' Ice in the Capital" Tournament. They beat the West Island Royals by a score of 1-0.
It was a sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-seat type of game.

 Congratulations to the Peewee BB team on winning gold in the Kanata Girls Hockey Tournament this weekend. The team was undefeated in the round robin and secured the top seed for the championship game versus the Nepean Wildcats. With three minutes left in a scoreless game, Chiara ensured that the ICE won the gold by scoring two goals! Thanks to all the coaches and players for another fantastic weekend - next stop, Outaouais.

 Congratulations to the Midget BB team for winning the silver medal at the Napanee Tournament. The team made it to the final with 2 wins and 1 loss. They qualified for the final with an exciting win late Saturday over the Kitchener Lady Rangers. Ottawa met the Lady Rangers again in the finals on Sunday but lost in a well-played game.

  Congratulations to the OGHA Peewee 1 & Bantam 1 teams who were CHAMPIONS in the Clarence/Rockland tournament! Both teams were undefeated in the tournament, and had exciting overtime and shootout victories. Way to go, girls and coaches!

The final installment registration payments of October 31st are now due. Post-dated cheques will be cashed on November 12th. For those who have not provided a cheque for their October 31st installment, payment should be mailed in asap (P.O. Box 40044, K1V 0W8), or payment can be made online using the Account link on your Family Page.

We will be holding our first tournament committee meeting of the season 8:00pm on Thursday, 5 November, at Dulude Arena. I would recommend that one representative from all OGHA house league teams attend, but everyone is welcome.

| New Handshake Procedures from OWHA |

- Players are to keep their hockey gloves on for the post-game handshake and tap gloves.
- The coaches and officials shall greet each other at the bench without the handshake.
Note that these new rules are effective IMMEDIATELY. Also, all trainers' bags this year were equipped with Purell.
