As the 2009/10 season draws to a close, we are once again asking for you to complete coach and assistant coach evaluations online. These anonymous evaluations will assist us in placing coaches for the 2010/11 season and will also provide our volunteer coaches with valuable feedback. We encourage older players to complete the surveys as well as parents. The surveys only take a couple of minutes to complete, please take a moment to provide your feedback before March 31st.

The OGHA is seeking applications for the top-level competitive teams for the 2010/2011 season, at the following levels:

• Intermediate A
• Midget AA**
• Bantam A
• Peewee A
• Atom A

**Note, spring tryouts will be held at the beginning of May in order to determine if there are a sufficient number of players available to field a Midget AA team. Coach applicants should be willing to coach at either the Midget AA or A level.

Deadline for Midget AA coach applications is March 31, 2010 in order to hold interviews and have the coach in place prior to the May tryouts. Deadline for Atom, Peewee, Bantam & Intermediate top level coach applications is April 15, 2010. Download the 2010/2011 Top-level Competitive Coach Application Form.

Tax receipts have now ALL been emailed out to the main contact of every family. If you have not received yours, please contact president@ogha.info . Only players who were 15 years old or younger in 2009 are eligible to claim this tax credit. For more information regarding the 2009 Child Fitness Tax Credit, please visit the Canada Revenue Agency website.

Congratulations to the OGHA competitive teams moving on to the ODWHA (regional) League Championships this weekend: Atom BB, Peewee BB & Intermediate A. Congratulations as well to the OGHA competitive teams who qualified for the Provincials in Toronto, April 9-11: Atom BB & Bantam A. And finally, congratulations to the OGHA Intermediate A team who showed well at their Provincial Championships in February and for their regular season FIRST PLACE finish in the league!

Nike/Bauer is recalling an estimated 100,000 hockey sticks because of potentially dangerous levels of lead. They have not yet posted a list on their website; however, CTV has posted the list.

OGHA Atom BB player, Kate Millar recently wrote an outstanding letter to the editor of the Ottawa Citizen regarding the suggestion of removing women's hockey from the Olympics. Well done Kate!

House league playoff schedules are now posted. Coaches and managers are asked to check and double check the schedule along with MOGHL's schedule on Goalline, if there are discrepancies, please report them to president@ogha.info immediately. Practices have been posted for the next week, the remainder of the month should be posted over the next few days. Sorry for the short notice, but practices could not be scheduled until MOGHL published the game schedules. Good luck to all teams in the upcoming playoffs.
