The Midget AA final tryout dates are now set: Sat. August 21st, 7-9pm Carleton University Rink B and Sun. August 22nd, 3:30-5:30pm Carleton University Rink B. Online registration will be available soon. Those who registered and tried out in the spring, will NOT be required to pay for these final two tryout sessions, but everyone wishing to tryout must be registered online.
Tryouts for the remaining top level teams (Atom A, Peewee A & Bantam A) will be held August 28, 29, 30 & 31, with conditioning clinics running from August 23-27 inclusive. 

After six years, the OGHA webmaster is stepping down this fall. We need volunteers to fill this role. The site is a content management system that is straightforward to update and maintain, and training is available.

Do you have any Championship or Finalist banners sitting in your basement? If so, please let us know, the OGHA is applying to the city to have our banners hung in local arenas, now we just need to collect them from our teams. If you have a banner or two, please email Stephanie Steward

Unfortunately the registration fees for 10/11 have increased considerably due in part to an increase in ice costs, an increase in OWHA registration fees, and an anticipated increase in league fees. However, the largest factor causing the increase in registration fees is the introduction of the HST, this will add 8% to many of our expenses, including our largest expense -- the purchase of ice. We continue to offer several discounts; early registration discount, sibling discount and a discount to goalies who have their own equipment. As well, we continue to offer the option to pay registration fees in installments, and new this year, there is no additional charge to pay your registration fee online via Paypal or by credit card.

Remember the $50 early registration discount and the ability to guarantee a spot as a returning player, are only available up until May 15th. Last year, we had several age levels with waiting lists, don't be disappointed next fall, register now!

The OGHA is pleased to announce that we will be running a Midget AA team for the 2010/11 season. Tryouts will continue in August, watch the website for the schedule, to be posted soon. Players who paid for the May tryouts will NOT be required to pay again for the August tryouts.

The OGHA is pleased to announce that the Midget Tier 1 coach will be Mark Cleland. Online registration is now available for the OGHA spring Midget AA tryouts. Players MUST be registered online in order to be eligible for the tryouts. Players from other girls' associations, must provide Permission to Skate forms from their home association.

The tryouts will be held May 1, 7, 8 & 9 (see schedule page for details) to determine if there is sufficient interest and skill level to field a Midget AA team. If so, some players will be offered spots immediately following the May tryouts and the remainder of the team will be chosen at the August tryouts. If there is not sufficient interest and skill level, we will be fielding a Midget A team and the tryouts will be held in August. Players who pay for the May tryouts will NOT be required to pay again for the August tryouts.

Congratulations to OGHA Intermediate A player and Ottawa U Business & Marketing student, Jessica Gillespie, who recently participated in the 2010 Happening Marketing Competition. Happening Marketing gathers nearly 500 business and marketing students from more than 10 universities in Eastern Canada. This inter-university competition challenges their knowledge, skills, creativity, and school spirit through academic cases, as well as sport and social activities.

Jessica was a member of the sports team that finished in second place, helping Ottawa U earn 1st place overall in the competition. Congratulations, Jessica, for successfully balancing academic achievement and participation in competitive sports, within the university and outside.

CONGRATULATIONS Atom 2 Blue Lightning, CITY CHAMPIONS at today's MOGHL Championship Day. After an exciting tie game and overtime, it went to a shootout, with Emerson scoring the only goal and Amanda in net, turning away all three Nepean shooters. Congratulations as well to Novice 1, SILVER MEDALLISTS who had an awesome season and a great final game.
You have all made the OGHA very proud!
