The first House League sort out schedules are now posted on the schedules page. Please note that there will be a second set of sort outs on Sept 18th & 19th, times & arenas will be posted soon. Note that Midget & Intermediate house league sort outs will be held later in the month.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with girls hockey, please note that for house league sort outs, you will look on the schedule for your age level with a number after it, for example, Novice 1 & 2, Atom 1 & 2, anything with a letter after it signifies a competitive team.
For those of you currently on a waiting list, you can check where you are on the waiting list by logging into the website, go to your Family Page and then the Programs page. Once the competitive tryouts are completed, we anticipate that there will be movement off of the waiting lists and you will see this reflected on your Programs page.

The OGHA is now seeking applications for House League Head Coaches. Please complete the form and submit to the House League Convenor, Charlie Pilson, as per the instructions on the form. In order to get most of the coaches in place prior to the start of the season, we ask that you send in your application as soon as possible, preferably by August 23rd. Congratulations to OGHA Vice President, Steven Leu. At the end of September, he will be awarded the Governor General's Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal. The medal is given as recognition of professionalism, leadership and exemplary service in his duties with the Ottawa Paramedic Service. CONGRATULATIONS Steve. On behalf of the entire OGHA, we are very proud to have you as part of our family, anyone who knows you, knows that it is a well-deserved honour.

The tryout schedule for the OGHA Intermediate A competitive tryouts is now available. Tryout schedules are accessible by clicking on the yellow Schedule tab near the top of the home page. Make sure that you choose "2010 Tryouts" in the last drop-down box and then click on the 'Show' button.
When registering for the tryouts, please note that you must be logged into the site. Go to your Family Page, then choose the blue 'Programs' link near the top, this takes you to the programs page which shows all of the programs currently available for registration. Simply click on the blue 'Register' link for the 2010 Competitive Tryouts.

We have had many questions regarding the number of competitive teams planned at the Atom age level. At this point, due to an increase in registrations at the Atom age, we have decided to add a fourth team at this age level. The decision on whether it will be a third house league team or a second competitive team will be made at the time of the tryouts. We are considering adding a second competitive team at the atom age level; however, it will depend on the number of players committed to playing at the competitive level (i.e., registered for tryouts) and the skill level of those players. We are now seeking head coach applications for our Tier 2, 3 & 4 teams. Please note that the level of all OGHA competitive teams is based on the skill level and the number of players trying out, therefore the number of  teams and their levels are not definite. So far, the following teams are planned, Peewee B/C, Bantam B/C & Midget BB/B. Applicants should complete the application form and forward it to our Competitive Convenor, Bryon Capello.  In order to get the coaches in place as soon as possible, we would ask that applications be submitted by June 30, 2010.
